March 19, 2023 Elder Bryce Lowrance
Elder Bryce Lowrance considers how it is that we are in the love of God, turning to Job’s beginning answer found in Job 9: “I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?” Brother Bryce then goes on to look at Job’s statements in the remaining chapter that continually prove that man, including Job, cannot justify himself or challenge God in any way. He shows how, despite what Job was going through, Job still trusted the Lord and pled for mercy. While Job sadly doesn’t see a “daysman” to go between himself and God in this passage, Brother Bryce reminds of us that we do know our daysman’s name in Jesus Christ. He exhorts us to keep in mind Job’s correct observations that man cannot justify himself, but Brother Bryce also exhorts us to consider the doctrine of justification by faith and how “the just shall live by faith” here in time.
