"Saved by the Hope of the Resurrection" • 1st Thessalonians 5:1-11. Brother Jonah and Elder Bryce speak about the facts of the return of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of the dead. After a short review of the final verses of Chapter 4, Brother Jonah preaches about the source of comfort and hope we have in the truth of the resurrection. Elder Bryce picks up in the same verses and adds teaching from Romans 8:14-24.  If we have been led by the Holy Spirit to seek God and do good, that is a clear testimony to us that we have a wonderful future with the God of Glory. We can have full assurance that Jesus is coming back for us. This assurance gives us hope. This hope saves us from the despair of looking at the world crumbling aground us and saves us by assuring us that our present struggles are not the end of the story.

In his final message from the 1st Epistle to the Corinthians, Elder Lowrance shows that the Apostle Paul’s purpose in the letter has been to charge the Corinthians brethren to put away selfish behavior and act like mature Christians by loving others. True manhood is a life lived for the benefit of others, not self pleasure or satisfaction. This message was preached on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

1st Thessalonians 4:1-9 • "Abound More and More" - Brother Jonah Lowrance. Paul using the sin of fornication as the example, teaches against living a life of selfishness and personal pleasure. It is wrong to live in sin and think that it is alright. We are cheating the brethren. Rather than seeking to please ourselves, we should be focusing on loving our brethren. We can replace our bad behavior with things focused on God like singing, praying, and reading God's word.
 
Psalm 18:3-19 • "I Will Call Upon the Lord" - Elder Bryce Lowrance. David has confidence that God will answer his cries for help because of the covenant relationship he has with his Heavenly Father. David gives a glimpse behind the curtain so that we can see what happens in heaven and with God when we pray. When one of His children is in danger, God listens and answers quickly. He comes in His full power and with the armies of heaven to thwart the attempts of the Enemy and save us from danger.
